Read the interview on XXL about Mecca and the Soul Brother as Pete Rock reflects on the making on the album. The part that stood out to me the most was his viewpoint on bootlegging back in 1992. It sounds very similar to what the industry is facing now just from a technology perspective.

As you may have heard, Heavy D (Dwight Arrington Myers) has passed away.  This is indeed sad news as hip-hop has lost a great soul.  He died in a Los Angeles hospital today at 1PM after being rushed there around 12PM.  He recently returned from overseas where he caught pneumonia.
