As Charmingly Ghetto gets ready to announce his next project with the summer nearing, he was invited to perform live on WERS’ airwaves in Boston during their “Live Music Week” fund raiser. “No Lime” is a freestyle over Common’s “Resurrection (Remix)” instrumental, produced by Large Professor. The live footage captures C.G.’s ability to weave complex flows, as well as a certain hunger as he rips through the instrumental for four minutes straight. This freestyle will appear on one of C.G.’s forthcoming mixtape releases, in collaborations with a prominent producer/DJ in today’s world of hip-hop.
For years, Charmingly Ghetto has been further extending his collaborative efforts when it comes to his music. Recently, C.G. has begun to experiment with a new direction, one that is encouraging him to develop creatively outside of the “rap” genre norm. His latest collaboration, features Charmingly Ghetto and Brionne Wright (jazz vocalist) sharing writing duties, alongside a smooth jazz backdrop complete with production and live instrumentation created by Zach Capner and four other talented students of the Berklee College of Music.
